Cristiano Ronaldo early days with Sir Alex Ferguson
Cristiano was signed by Ferguson back in 2003 from Sporting Libson. During this period, he made 196 appearances, scoring 84 times before he moved to Real Madrid in 2009.
He enjoyed much of his success with the Los Blancos where he scored 311 goals within nine years. Subsequently, he moved to Juventus in the year 2018 and increased his goal tally by hitting the net 98 times.
The 37-year-old returned to Manchester United last year and he scored 19 goals including the 700th goal against the Toffees.
Erik ten Hag praise Cristiano Ronaldo
Erik ten Hag praised Ronaldo when he told manuntd.com that: “It is fantastic. If you perform in 500 games for a club like Manchester United, that tells a lot about you”.
The Dutchman added that: “The talent, the personality – so that achievement is huge and I really reward that, I value that, and I want to congratulate him [for] that”.
“That is really impressive. To score 700 goals is a huge performance. I’m really happy for him. I congratulate him on that performance.”
“I’m also happy as it’s his first goal this season in the Premier League. He had to wait for it and I’m sure there will be more goals.”
Ferguson was no doubt the best candidate to present the award to the all-time leading goal scorer as the pair enjoyed success together at Old Trafford.
The veteran striker hoped to make it 701 career goals against Newcastle United but the match finished with a dissapoint goalless draw.
