The South African international – Benni McCarthy was pictured at Carrington training ground while giving instructions to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United held a training session ahead of the first UEFA Europa League fixture against Real Sociedad. The match is set on take place on Thursday at Old Trafford.
McCarthy was appointed as the striker coach for Manchester United at the start of the season. He makes his return to the Premier League since 2010 when he played for West Ham United.
The former Bafana Bafana striker had a successful career at Blackburn Rovers FC. He made 120 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 37 goals with six assists.
He is now mentoring the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony Santos, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Antony Elanga and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Images of McCarthy at Carrington broke the internet during the course of Monday. This follows the 3-1 victory against Arsenal.
