Manchester United is making moves this window in a bid to fill the void in the defensive midfield. Real Madrid playmaker Carlos Casemiro is increasingly edging closer to join Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports, the Los Blancos are open to sell Casemiro to the Red Devils. Talks between Real Madrid and Manchester United have progressed during the course of the day, and a transfer deal is more likely to be agreed.
The Red Devils poor start to the campaign has increasingly pushed the club to bring new players. Speaking in the post-match interview, Erik ten Hag admitted: “It’s rubbish. It’s poor. We need higher standards than that, that’s clear”.
Ten Hag added: “We need new players and quality players. We will try and convince them to join”.
The two clubs are reportedly set to agree a transfer fee worth £60 million. The Spanish giants are open to let Casemiro leave because the club is not short of defensive midfielders.
Madrid has a blend of both young and experinced midfielders. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are regular starters, with Camavinga still fighting for his place. So it is no doubt that Casemiro deal will suit both United and Madrid.
It will be upon the player to agree personal terms with Manchester United. The 30-year-old is currently under £180 000 per week and the 20 times Premier League champions will double will it to £380 000.
