The player will begin talks with United boss Erik ten Hag about his future alongside his agent Jorge Mendes. Sky Sports reported that Sir Alex Ferguson will partake in the talks as he was seen arriving at Carrington.
Ronaldo has missed pre-season tours both in Thailand and Australia respectively. According to The Athletic, Ronaldo had been absent due to “family issues”. Sources suggest that the 37-year-old requested a move to leave Manchester United should a reasonable offer come.
The Red Devils hierarchy have made their stand clear that the no.7 is not for sale. Erik ten Hag expects him to be part of the 2021/22 campaign and he is yet to communicate directly with the player. This is despite reports that the Portuguese had been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
