Manchester United is still pursuing the transfer of Frankie de Jong. Chelsea has recently joined the race to secure the signature of the Catalan midfielder and it is believed that the London club is more likely to win the bidding war of de Jong.
The Blues will offer the former Amsterdam based midfielder UEFA Champions League football, something which is not on the cards of Manchester United. The relationship between ten Hag and de Jong is the only influencial factor in de Jong’s decision to join United.
Chelsea has reportedly matched Manchester United with the transfer fee worth £72 million. It remains to be seen whether the no.21 will head to London or Old Trafford.
De Jong’s agent – Ali Dursun was spotted in Barcelona to meet with the hierarchy of the club in a bid to decide the player’s future.
Videos of Dursun arriving in Barcelona camps circulated on social media during the course of Wednesday.
