Manchester United concluded their pre-season with a draw at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in a red shirt for the first time since the previous season.
The 37-year-old was subbed-off in the second-half. Amad Diallo was given a runout in the second-half and the Ivorian international scored in front of Stretford End in the 48th minute.
The latest signing Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez featured at Old Trafford, with Raphael Verane leading the team. Youngsters were subbed in the second-half and Garnacho was the stand-out performer. The boss stated: “He played pretty well – he is still a teenager but his performance was really good”.
Manchester United goal was cancelled by Alvaro García in the 57th minute. The former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao was in fine form and he rattled the cross-bar during second-half.
The match finished in stalemate and it is no doubt that Erik ten Hag was disappointed as the team had lost 1-0 in a previous fixture against Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United will now turn attention to the Premier League opening match against Brighton. All-eyes will be on Old Trafford next Saturday.
Manchester United starting XI: Heaton; Laird, Martinez, Verane, Telles; Van de Beek, Garner, Chong; Eriksen, Ronaldo, Garnacho.
