The UEFA Europa League draw took place in Instabul, Turkey during the course of Friday.
Manchester United has been drawn in Group E along side the Spanish club – Real Sociedad. The group also include Shiriff and Omonoia respectively.
The last time the Red Devils faced Real Sociedad, Ole-Gunner Solskjær’s team was held in a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. On the return fixture, United sealed a 4-0 victory in Spain to qualify for the last-16.
The England based club went on to reach the final but lost in the penalty shoot-out against Villarreal.
Manchester United won the competition in the year 2017 during the era of Jose Mourinho. The English giants sealed a 2-1 victory against Ajax. The finale was held in Instabul which saw Wayne Rooney lifting the trophy.
The group stage fixtures are scheduled to commence in September 2022. The English giants will look to make an impact and potentially afford young players an opportunity.
