Christian Eriksen has taken the headlines in recent weeks following his outstanding display. Former Manchester United midfielder – Michael Carrick praised the Denmark international during UEFA Nations League.
The 30-year-old largely dominated the midfield against France. He also played a big part in the four consecutive victories for Manchester United in the Premier League. According to Manchester United official page, Carrick said:
“I’m not surprised one bit [by Christian Eriksen’s form]”, he stated. “I played against him a lot; I watched him a lot. I like him a lot.
“He’s a fantastic footballer. He’s clever, he’s smart.”
Michael was impressed with the flexibility of the position of Eriksen. The Danish international has the ability to play in different positions. In the encounter against Brighton Hove & Albion, Erik ten Hag deployed him in the false nine position.
“It almost doesn’t matter what position he plays”, Michael added. “He can adapt. He’s just a clever, intelligent footballer with great quality.
“I was pleased when we signed him, and he’s not surprised me one bit.”
“He’s a top player”.
Eriksen is set to feature in his first Manchester derby. Manchester United will face the Citizens at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
