According to the Mirror, Mason Greenwood has been included in the Manchester United 25-man Premier League under-21 squad amid speculations of his return to Old Trafford.
Greenwood was suspended in January for the alleged rape, assault and threat to kill his ex-girlfriend as reported by Daily Sun.
A voice recording of the alleged offense circulated on social media in late January. However, Greenwood was released on bail.
The English international remains on bail while investigations relating to the alleged charges are still under investigation.
Mason Greenwood made his way into the first team after spending years in the academy of Manchester United.
He has made 82 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 22 times with 4 assists. His absence was evident during the worst spell of the club in the 2021/22.
The South African reported that Greenwood last featured against West Ham on 22 January 2022. It has since become unclear when the no.11 will return to Old Trafford.
Manchester United are still hoping that Mason will return to the club. It is no doubt that he will add attacking options in front.
