Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest fixture is set to take place tonight. The Red Devils will compete in the Premier League since the 2-1 victory over Fulham in mid November, as reported by United Radar.

The match is set to take place at Old Trafford on or about 21:00 (UK time). The game will be broadcasted on Super Sport and starting line-ups will be provided one hour before kick-off.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphaël Verane are still unavailable since the pair appeared in the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar for their respective countries.

Martinez is still celebrating in Buenos Aires following Argentina’s World Cup triumph. The former Ajax defender is expected to return to Manchester in the coming hours.

Manchester Evening News quoted the remarks of Ten Hag on the availability of Martinez and Verane: “Returning from Rapha Varane and Licha Martinez, they are not there [back at United] but we hope on their comeback [soon].”

The boss further spoke on the players who are returning from the World Cup: “The players from the World Cup are back, are integrated again and you feel they are excited.”

”[They had] massive impressions there [in Qatar], but now they are back, and you feel their energy. They are looking forward to the restart [of the Premier League].”

Ten Hag confirmed that Harry Maguire returned to training on Friday after missing the fixture against Burnley in the Carabao Cup tie.

The boss added: “We had some problems with illness like Harry Maguire, but he was back on the training pitch today so I’m happy with that.”

The Dutchman deployed a defensive partnership of Carlo Casemiro and Victor Lindelof for the Burnley clash in the absence of Maguire, Verane and Martinez.

On the other hand, the former star of Manchester United – Jesse Lingard will play at Old Trafford for the first time since he left the club in the summer.

According to the Mirror, Lingard spoke on his emotional return to Old Trafford: “I am excited about going back to Old Trafford. I will go there wanting to win — that is the most important thing. It will be emotional on one front.”

Jesse added: “But we have a job to do, if we can get three points, that is the most important thing. I will look forward to catching up with a lot of people after the game. But I want to do that after a win.”

Dean Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. Therefore, he is ineligible to play against Manchester United.

Nottingham and Manchester United played six times, with the latter winning five games, and both teams have drawn once. Nottingham is yet to win against the English giants.
