Cristiano Ronaldo training - Manchester United vs Sheriff Tiraspol
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training ahead of the UEFA Europa League after being suspended following his conduct during a match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

“Yes, Cristiano will be in the squad tomorrow and Rapha Varane isn’t in the squad. He will be out, certainly until the World Cup so he will not play in this block for Manchester United.”

When asked about the availability of Verane for the World Cup, the boss replied: “I think so, but the prognosis we have to wait. We have to see how it develops, how the rehab will develop”.

The Frenchman was injured during a Premier League match against Chelsea as previously reported by United Radar. Ronaldo was axed from the team for his conduct during the Tottenham game.

The Portuguese international was seen storming off to the tunnel in the 89th minute of the match. He refused to be subbed because of his frustration for lack of game time.

Harry Maguire returned to training after being sidelined with an injury. He is in contention with Lindelof to secure a place in the starting line-up in the absence of Verane.

Ten Hag said: “Yeah, they are all back in training. Donny [van de Beek], Harry [Maguire], Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] are all in training for preparation for tomorrow’s game”.

Erik further confirmed the absence of Anthony Martial. The Frenchman picked up an injury last month during a 2-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park Stadium.

This indicates that Ronaldo could start up front, alongside Antony Santos and Marcus Rashford. The boss will play his strong squad to get maximum points at Old Trafford.
