The Mirror reported that Manchester United director John Murtough was spotted in Italy after a meeting was scheduled with Adrien Rabiot’s agent and mother – Veronique Rabiot. A video showing Murtough leaving Turin circulated on social media during Friday.
Manchester United board are increasingly under pressure after the club made only three signings. The aftermath of the defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion was a wake up call, leading Manchester United hierarchy to act with urgency.
The English giants approached Juventus for the transfer of Rabiot just few hours after the Brighton defeat. Sky Sports reported that both clubs reached an agreement for the transfer of Rabiot on Monday. The transfer was only subject to the player’s personal terms by Tuesday.
Manchester United representative Murtough scheduled a meeting with Rabiot’s agent on Thursday to discuss salary package of the contract. Talks between the two parties successfully concluded on Friday afternoon in Turin.
It is now upon the club to finalize necessary paperwork and schedule a medical for the France midfielder. Rabiot will be unveiled as a player for Manchester United in the coming days.
