Manchester United will take on Omonia on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League encounter. Erik ten Hag and Victor Lindelof held a press conference ahead of the fixture.
The Red Devils will be confident coming into the game following their win against Everton at Goodison Park. United also sealed a victory against Omonia a week ago.
The boss confirmed that Anthony Martial did not train during the course of the day but it is unclear whether he will start on Thursday. Harry Maguire will be sidelined with injury.
Donny Van de Beek and Aron Wan-Bissaka are long absentees as previously reported by United Radar. According to Football Faithful, Dutchman told the media that:
“Not today [Martial training], we will see how it develops for Sunday. Harry [Maguire] is out. And longer-term Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.”
“I told the players weeks ago, before the break, it was important to win the group. We want to win all the games, but it’s clear, we want to avoid that [finishing second in group].”
The former Ajax manager further added: “We want to finish number one in the group. Our aim is to win all the games, it is clear. If you want to win it [the Europa League] you have to win them all”.
“All clubs who play in Europe have the same problem. We have a squad to cover the games, in all positions, we have two players. Injuries will be there, suspensions will be there. You have to deal with it as a squad”.
On the other hand, the Swedish said: “I just want what is best for the team and as I said I am always there and always ready whenever the team needs me to come and perform”.
