The match is set to take place away at St. James Park Stadium on or about 16:30 (UK time). The game will be broadcasted on Super Sport and starting line-ups will be provided one hour before kick-off.

According to Manchester United website, players have returned from international break after representing their respective nations. Marcus Rashford was declared unfit to join Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw for England outing. The boss is optimistic on Rashford’s return.

“I have good hope”, said Erik. “He trained but he had to do some treatment, he had to do some individual training and, today, he joined in the group. I think we have one more day so I have good hope he’s available. I think so.”

“For me, it’s positive that he took that time to turn off from football [to go to New York]. I’ve seen him back this week and he showed a lot of energy, a lot of motivation.”

Ten Hag added: “So this training, as the whole team, was a really good session with a lot of spirit, but especially also with Marcus.”

Marcel Sabitzer was an unused substitute when Austria faced Estonia after picking up a knock. On the other hand, Raphaël Verane went in the break with an injury.

Anthony Martial could make a remarkable comeback to the squad since appearing in the Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest early February.

Alejandro Garnacho will be a long-term absentee after the Argentine international picked up an ankle injury during a draw against Southampton.

Carlo Casemiro will serve the second of his four match ban following a straight red card he was shown by Anthony Taylor during a fixture against Southampton. Christian Eriksen and Donny Van de Beek remain sidelined with injuries.

The Magpies last faced United in the Carabao Cup final. Newcastle succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Red Devils in what became the first trophy for Ten Hag, as reported by Daily Mail.

The two sides last faced each other in the Premier League during the course of October 2022 at Old Trafford. Newcastle salvaged a point in a goalless draw after Rashford missed a sitter in stoppage time.

Eddie Howe’s men look forward to bounce back from a painful defeat at Wembley Stadium back in March.
